Karachi Position Holders to Receive Electric Bikes Under PM Program

Karachi – Government college students who secured top positions in the intermediate examinations will be awarded electric bikes under the Prime Minister’s programme.

According to Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, Faqeer Muhammad Lakho, the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) has also announced fully funded scholarships for the position holders.

A special ceremony will be organised where toppers, their parents, and notable personalities will be invited. During the event, the students will be presented with electric bikes, which have already been delivered in preparation for the ceremony.

Chairman Lakho stated that the initiative will continue annually until 2030. It follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s nationwide announcement to distribute free electric bikes to high-achieving students.

Earlier, during a review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, the government decided to promote the use of electric vehicles and ensure access for the public. The plan includes distributing electric bikes to board toppers across the country.

The Prime Minister’s Electric Vehicle Scheme also promises 100,000 electric bikes and 3,000 electric rickshaws and loaders for talented students and unemployed youth, including top scorers from the Federal Board.
